The National College of Home Affairs (CNAI) and the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) organized between 8 and 16 of June 2020 the Pre-deployment Training for CSDP Missions and Operations Course, in digital format.
READ MOREThe European Security and Defense College was created in 2005 in order to develop a joint framework of training and professional cooperation on a strategic level, for both military and civilian personnel, regarding the Common Security and Defense Policy.
The Orientation Course regarding the Common Security and Defense Policy is a major component of the EU training activities as well as a part of the Common Security and Defense Policy.
This orientation course focuses on individual aspects that link internal and external security, as well as on the actors who are a part of the internal and external security domain as essential elements of a complete approach on EU level. The course facilitates a better understanding of the Common Security and Defense Policy and contributes to the publicity and development of a European security culture.
As a result of the appreciation the European Security and Defense College has for the National College of Home Affairs, it was decided that starting March 2012, the latter would become a member of the network of institutions in partnership with the European Security and Defense College and that it would contribute, with its expertise in home affairs, to the development of some courses within a partnership.
The Orientation Course regarding the Common Security and Defense Policy and the connection with the EU space of security, freedom and justice is organized by Romania ( the National College of Home Affairs – Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”) annually in partnership with the European Security and Defense College.
The courses end with a ceremony during which the participants are given graduation certificates signed by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-president of the European Commission, Mrs. Federica Mogherini.
The National College of Home Affairs (CNAI) within the Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” has organized, under the auspices of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), between 26th and 30th of October 2015, “the Orientation Course regarding the Common Security and Defense Policy”, which was held at the Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”.
Up to now four courses were held, two in Brussels (2012, 2014) and two in Bucharest (2013, 2015) and the activity was well praised by both our partners and foreign students.
Alongside the Romanian students (30 places), the course was attended by 16 students from EU countries as well as from third party states included in the European Neighborhood Policy.
The orientation course focused on individual aspects that link internal and external security, as well as on the actors who are a part of the internal and external security domain as essential elements of a complete approach on EU level, especially in regard of migration, combating organized crime and terrorism.
The National College of Home Affairs (CNAI) within the Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” has organized, under the auspices of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), between 9th and 13th November 2015, the second module of the High Level Course regarding the European Security and Defense Policy, which took place at the headquarters of the National College of Home Affairs – the Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”.
Taking into consideration the astonishing results the National College of Home Affairs had in organizing the basic course as well as its potential in organizing high level courses, the college has received the approval of the European Security and Defense College to organize, within a partnership, one of the four modules of the High Level Course addressed to all the representatives of the member states and EU institutions.
The general purpose of the course is preparing the EU member states' representatives for leading positions in applying and developing the European Security and Defense Policy.
This course was attended by a number of 71 students who were officials, senior officials, military and police officers of high rankings coming from the EU member states and institutions. The participants were selected by the EU member states and institutions, and must have a key position or clear potential in obtaining a high level leading position, as well as connections regarding the European Security and Defense Policy.
The course ended on 13th November 2015 with the ending ceremony of the second module, which was attended by the Head of the ESDC, Mr. Dirk DUBOIS.
